On 13th of May, Location 248-1, contracted by Zhongman Team 9, was completed and accepted by the client.  In the process, a new record of directional well drilling was set and by 14th of May, 2250 meters were successfully drilled.

The well is the deepest directional well in Yanchang Oilfield with a depth designed to be 3200 meters and a horizontal length of 1324 meters. The client regards it as of historical importance, most difficult, and a break-through.  For this reason it was assigned to Zhongman Team 9, which is one of Zhongman’s most trusted teams. Since the spud of 248-1, supported by the Group, several on-site planning meetings were held for the technical exchange with engineers and mud experts.  For the supply of materials, the company prepared an adequate work force to meet the demands of production with assurance for production safety and efficiency.  Mr. Ren Hanjun, Rig Manager, said that we had the back-up and support of all staff members, and were confident that the best well would be drilled.  The team members are now in high spirit through their hard work, determination, and accomplishment.  Like “iron men” in such demanding circumstances and environment, this team is truly known as Zhongman’s Iron Troop.

Since 2007, when Team 9 entered the Yanchang Oilfield, their rigorous organization, serious attitude, strict and impartial discipline, skillful measuring techniques, and consistent high production have all been highly praised by the client.
