On July 20th, the 2025 Annual Summer Training opening ceremony for college students was held at the University of Southern Iraq. Consul General Chen Peizhong of the Chinese Consulate General in Basra specifically pointed out that ZPEC Iraq Branch has systematically built a practical platform for local young people through vocational skills training, demonstrating the active commitment of Chinese enterprises in fulfilling social responsibilities overseas.

At the opening ceremony, Consul General Chen Peizhong of the Chinese Consulate General in Basra spoke highly of the positive contributions made by Chinese enterprises to the local economic and social development in his speech. He stated, "The practical platform provided by ZPEC fully demonstrates the sincerity of Chinese enterprises in efficiently cooperating with Iraq for common development. I hope the trainees will cherish this opportunity, study diligently, and apply their knowledge and skills to Iraq's national reconstruction cause in the future."

 Adnan Ateeq, President of the University of Southern Iraq, expressed his gratitude to ZPEC for providing valuable practical opportunities for students. He said that this cooperation would help improve the practical ability of students and lay a solid foundation for their future employment and development.

 Li Xu, General Manager of ZPEC Iraq Branch, reviewed the company's development history of taking root in Iraq and serving the local society over the years. He stated, "Creating jobs and cultivating talents for the local community is an unshirkable social responsibility of enterprises. This cooperation with the University of Southern Science and Technology is a continuation of our commitment to building a learning and practice platform and supporting the growth of the younger generation. The company will provide high-quality practical resources and professional guidance to help the trainees gain an in-depth understanding of modern oil production and management processes."

After the ceremony, the first batch of 15 outstanding college students from the University of Southern Iraq set off for their internship at ZPEC's Rumaila Base. Meanwhile, 15 college students from Basra University of Oil and Gas had also arrived at the base, and all of them will participate together in a one-month intensive practical training.
