On August 6, ZPEC Group General Manager Shi Shuyi visited Rig 4 #183 well in the rain to check instruction work, to encourage everyone to unite as one and conquer their obstacles, and to be efficient while “doubling the harvest” and enhancing the ZPEC brand image.  He was accompanied by Liu Weigang, Project Manager of ZPEC Drilling Company,

General Manager Shi performed a very thorough inspection.  In the rain, he looked at the well site drilling tools and he strictly inspected every tool with the team.  In view of the actual high pump pressure at the site, it was important to ensure that the well drilling tools were not worn nor had any leakage.  Then, General Manager Shi went aboard the rig, examining the equipment running status.  He discussed the down-hole conditions and well depth with the shift driller and communicated with Project Department and Rig 4 Drilling Team.  He then followed-up the inspection with a symposium attended by the drilling team, monitors, and technical personnel.  General Manager Shi said, “If we want to stand out in the market, want high benefit and high profits, the successful completion of this difficult well must rely on the fighters united as one.  Starting from the basic work, we must perform in strict accordance with the design and construction, be in good control of the borehole trajectory, with the team communicating effectively, optimizing the tool structure and drilling parameters, choosing the correct bit in order to improve the rate of penetration.”  At the same time, he pointed out that in improving drilling speed, production safety must be forefront and to ensure the quality of drilling rig, the drilling crew must do a good job of well control.

The speech of General Manager Shi greatly inspired the morale of Rig 4 staff.  Everybody agreed that they must live up to the leadership, drill efficiently and with quality, adding luster to the ZPEC brand.  Well #183 has a designed well depth of 3,832 meters, and a level long horizontal 1,500 meter section.  The high technology content of this difficult well in the Changqing Oilfield is infrequent, however it is the key well to check the strength of ZPEC!
