On July 5th, Muhammad Yasin, the General Manager of Midland Oil Company of Iraq (MdOC), and his delegation, visited and exchanged views at ZPEC’s Chengdu Base. Both parties reached important consensus on accelerating the development and construction of two oilfield projects – the East Baghdad North (EBN Block) and the Middle Furat (MF Block) in Iraq, as well as expanding cooperation in such fields as oil and gas, and petroleum equipment manufacturing.

President Li Shiguang, Executive President Bo Qiliang of ZPEC Group, and Chen Keli, Deputy General Manager of ZPEC Equipment Group, among others, attended the meeting.

In the beginning of meeting, Muhammad Yasin watched the corporate promotional video and gained a detailed understanding of the development achievements made by ZPEC under the "Belt and Road Initiative”.

Subsequently, Bo Qiliang, Executive President, gave a brief introduction of ZPEC’s development history, international industrial layout, and production and operation status. He emphasized the Group's significant advantages in such fields as exploration and production, drilling engineering, equipment manufacturing, and international trade. Additionally, he provided a detailed account of ZPEC's mature experience, strong capabilities in operating domestic and international oil and gas projects (including those in Wensu in Xinjiang, China and both Tange and Coastal in Kazakhstan), as well as the follow-up development plans for several new overseas blocks.

He stated that ZPEC is a trustworthy partner for highly challenging oil and gas field development and operational projects. Going forward, the company would always uphold the concept of mutual benefit and win-win results, work hand in hand with MdOC, and push the cooperation between the two sides to new heights.

Li Shiguang, President of ZPEC, stated that in the past few years, ZPEC has demonstrated strong technical capabilities and operational competence in the field of oil and gas field exploration and production. In the Iraqi market, ZPEC has already shown first-class technical strength in such areas as drilling engineering. For the next step, ZPEC will concentrate high-quality resources to fully advance several key projects including the East Baghdad North (EBN) and Middle Furat Oilfields (MF) in Iraq, and actively expand into new projects in natural gas, drilling engineering, equipment manufacturing, and other sectors. He sincerely invited Muhammad Yasin to visit Zhongman’s Shanghai Headquarters and Lingang Manufacturing Base at an appropriate time to enhance mutual understanding.

Muhammad Yasin spoke highly of the existing cooperation achievements between the two sides. He pointed out that, at present, ZPEC is making smooth progress in the EBN and MF Oilfield Projects in Iraq. Not long ago, the special seminar on the initial development plan for the EBN Oilfield Project was successfully held in Beijing. The seminar on the initial development plan for the MF Oilfield Project would also be held in Beijing soon. He emphasized that ZPEC, with its strong technical strength, is a trustworthy partner. MdOC would, as always, provide strong support for ZPEC's projects and looks forward to carrying out more pragmatic cooperation with ZPEC in broader fields and at a deeper level.

After the discussion, Muhammad Yasin visited ZPEC’s Electronic Control and Equipment Production Workshops. He observed on-site the production lines and on-site debugging of top drives, casing running tools, electronic control systems, etc., and spoke highly of the company’s manufacturing strength and its abilities to make its systems highly intelligent.

MdOC is a state-owned oil and gas enterprise directly under the Ministry of Oil of Iraq, responsible for the development and operation of oil and gas resources in the central region of the country. On July 4th, the company grandly held a forum between MdOC and Chinese enterprises in Chengdu, Sichuan. Thirteen Chinese enterprises including ZPEC, CNOOC, Zhenhua Oil, and Anton Oil participated in the forum. Bo Qiliang, Executive President of ZPEC, and Zhang Tiexuan, Assistant President of the Iraqi Oilfield Project Company, were invited to attend and deliver keynote speeches. (Hao Donglei)
