The Fifth-Phase ZPEC Young and Middle-aged Management Training Class Completes Training in Beijing

On July 24th, a completion ceremony for the Fifth-Phase ZPEC Young and Middle‑Aged Management Training Program was held at China University of Petroleum (Beijing). After 109 days of full‑time intense study, all participants have enriched their knowledge and honed their leadership skills. They are ready to return to their respective business units and make contributions in the Group's journey of “major transformation, major adjustment, and major development”.

Zhang Guangqing, Vice President of China University of Petroleum (Beijing), Chen Chunmao, Dean of the School of Continuing Education, and Li Shiguang, President of ZPEC Group, attended the ceremony. The event was presided over by Wang Yonghua, Assistant to the President of ZPEC's Iraq Oilfield Project Company, and all trainees were present on the site.

The ceremony opened with a recap video highlighting the 100 days of study. Representatives of the six groups then shared their insights and exchanged work strategies based on their own positions. Leaders presented completion certificates to all trainees and gave awards to ten outstanding participants.

Li Shiguang, President of ZPEC Group, delivered the concluding speech. He fully affirmed the trainees' excellent conduct of diligent study, thoughtful reflection, and practical research throughout the training period. He noted that the program precisely matched the Group's talent needs for its transformation and development and had forged a young management team with wellrounded capabilities for ZPEC. He then put forward four requirements for the cadres in their future roles: First, stay firmly aligned with the corporate strategy and integrate learning with practice, turning the knowledge gained into practical competencies that drive business growth. Second, uphold the ZPEC spirit of the "Ironblooded Journey" and embrace the motto of China University of Petroleum Beijing"to learn with perseverance, to apply with integrity", and stay deep at the front line with a spirit of hard work and perseverance. Third, remain open to innovation and change, leveraging new technologies to empower their business and enhance competitiveness. Fourth, strengthen the sense of mission and responsibility, foster synergy and collaboration, and operate as a cohesive team to improve overall performance. He encouraged all young and middleaged cadres to step up and shoulder their missions, taking on leading roles, acting as pioneers, and becoming the main driving force in the Group's transformation and development. He further stated through solid efforts and tangible results, they should advance the implementation of the Group's 15th FiveYear Plan, accelerate ZPEC’s transformation into a worldclass integrated energy enterprise, and contribute ZPEC's strength to safeguarding national energy security.

Zhang Guangqing, Vice President of China University of Petroleum (Beijing), also spoke at the ceremony. He expressed congratulations to the trainees for their successful completion of the training program and highly evaluated this training as a critical practice for the deep cooperation between university and enterprise, and targeted fostering of international managerial talents. He stated China University of Petroleum established a practical curriculum system based on ZPEC’s need for overseas business and enterprise transformation that effectively helps the trainees break cognition limitation and improve their comprehensive capacities to fulfill their duties. He briefly introduced the University’s strategies for overseas education and for cultivation of the local talent along the “One Belt, One Road” countries. Zhang Guangqing urged the trainees to take the completion as a new starting point, stay committed to integrating theory with practice, and apply their learning to project operations and on-site production management both at home and abroad. He added that the University will continuously strengthen its all‑round partnership with ZPEC, expand cooperation in local talent cultivation, oilfield technology, R&D, and joint scientific research, and jointly address key industry challenges and support China's drive to become a global energy leader. 

Following the ceremony, all participants posed for a group photograph, with their completion certificates in hand and the ZPEC "Ironblooded Journey" flag held aloft, as a memento of the event.

It is understood that since the launch of this training program in Beijing, the session has featured 109 days of systematic, fulltime intensive study. The curriculum covered a full range of professional subjects, including oil and gas production, international business operations, digital transformation, and compliance management, complemented by diverse teaching formats such as special discussions, industry exchanges, and casebased reviews. All participating trainees balanced theoretical learning with problemoriented discussions, actively reflecting on practical challenges encountered in overseas and domestic projects as well as frontline operations. Through continuous study, they have updated their knowledge base, broadened their industry horizons, and enhanced their overall management capabilities. Under this universityenterprise collaborative training model, the trainees have gained a clearer understanding of the Group's transformation and development goals, honed their skills for tackling tough challenges, and truly achieved meaningful learning and tangible gains. This has fully prepared them to take on responsibilities and make solid contributions in their future posts.
