On April 8th, ZPEC’s Fifth Young and Middle-Aged
Management Training Program officially commenced at China University of
Petroleum (Beijing), with a planned duration of four months. A total of 40 young and middle-aged
managers from various business sectors of the Group are participating
in the training that is focused on three core dimensions: "broadening horizons,
transforming perceptions, and enhancing skills." The
program aims to comprehensively improve trainees'
general management capabilities, leadership decision-making skills, and overall
coordination abilities, thereby forging a highly-skilled
management team to drive the Group's high-quality development.
The opening ceremony was attended by Huang Lei, Vice President
of China University of Petroleum (Beijing); Chen Chunmao, Dean of the School of
Continuing Education; Li Chundi ZPEC Group Chairman; Li Shujie, Assistant to the President; Zhang
Pingzhan, Deputy Chief Economist; Xue Ruixia, Deputy Director of Human
Resources; and Li Guosheng, Human Resources Director of ZPEC Drilling.
In the ceremony, Huang Lei noted in his speech that the
university had developed a multiple module curriculum system for this training
program, encompassing management theories, practical case studies, cutting-edge
technologies, and cross-cultural communication. The program invited renowned
experts from both inside and
outside the university as well as senior industry managers as lecturers, in order to help trainees achieve
breakthroughs in thinking, perception, and practical abilities, and become a
core force driving the Group’s development. He added that by taking this training opportunity, they would further
strengthen the solid foundation of university-enterprise cooperation, deepen
the strategic partnership between the two sides, and advance deeper
collaboration in talent cultivation, scientific research, and international
business, ultimately achieving mutual empowerment, mutual success, and high-quality development for
both parties.
In his motivational address, Chairman Li Chundi emphasized that
the company had achieved a transformative leap from an engineering services
provider to an oil and gas-oriented enterprise, becoming a comprehensive
international energy company with six oil and gas fields. He noted that the
Group was currently in a critical period of Major Transformation, Major
Adjustment, and Major Development, facing daunting tasks, such as achieving
production targets in Iraqi projects, launching coastal oilfield production,
deepening lean management, and implementing digital transformation. Therefore,
a high-quality management iron corps was urgently needed to support strategic
execution. He had three expectations for the trainees: first, to stay anchored
to the strategy and integrate learning with practice, focus on solving the
Group’s practical problems and translating theories into concrete solutions;
second, to carry forward the "iron-blooded" spirit and uphold the
university-enterprise philosophy, engage in diligent study with a hard-working
style, merge the university’s motto of "to learn with perseverance, to
apply with integrity" to generate new ideas and
measures in management and market development; third, to strengthen a sense of
mission and responsibility, and build synergy through collaboration. They would apply what they had learned to
empower production and operations, contributing to achieving even greater leaps
in ZPEC’s development.
Li Xu, General Manager of ZPEC Iraq Drilling Company and a
trainee representative, shared his personal journey from a grassroots employee
to the head of an overseas branch. He spoke passionately about the nourishing
influence of the company's "striver-oriented" philosophy and the
"iron-blooded journey" spirit. On behalf of all trainees, he made a
solemn pledge: to adhere to integrating learning with practice, uniting
knowledge with action, combining classroom knowledge with frontline realities,
and focusing on achieving new breakthroughs in capabilities such as project
management and risk control; to encourage each other;
and to make progress together.
