On May 18^th, the second meeting of the Joint Management Committee (JMC) for the Zerafa II Project in Algeria was successfully convened at ZPEC’s Algeria Project Company. The meeting reviewed and approved the 2026 work plan and budget adjustment proposal, confirmed the entry into force and enforcement of two key contracts, and defined the path forward for subsequent priority tasks, laying a solid foundation and opening a new chapter for accelerating the project construction. It was attended by Ahmed, Chairman of the Zerafa II Project JMC, Bo Qiliang, ZPEC Executive President, and Hu Ertai, ZPEC Vice President.

During the meeting, ZPEC presented key project progress since the inaugural meeting and summarized the accomplishments achieved from the second meeting of three special subcommittees of the Joint Management Committee. Following thorough discussions, the JMC reviewed and formally approved the 2026 work plan and budget adjustment proposal for the Zerafa II Project. They confirmed that the two key contracts of seismic data processing and interpretation, and environmental impact assessment (EIA) were entered into contract for performance, meanwhile defining the detailed path forward and performance plans for subsequent geological studies, drilling operations, related service procurement, etc.

Bo Qiliang stated that the successful convening of the second JMC meeting represented a milestone in the construction progress of the Zerafa II Project. He added that the company would take this opportunity to give full play to its advantages of its integrated industrial chain, further expediting overall progress, actively pushing forward the implementation of preparatory work, and ensuring the thorough and effective delivery of the project plans.

Ahmed spoke highly of the fruitful outcomes of the meeting and the efficient collaboration demonstrated by both teams. He stated that the Algerian side would continue to fully support the project construction, deepen cooperation with ZPEC, and work together to attain the goals of mutual benefits and common development.
