ZPEC Meets Iraq’s Newly Appointed Minister of Oil

On May 21st, Geng Xianliang, Senior Vice President of ZPEC and President of ZPEC Iraq Oilfield Project Company, led a delegation to meet with Bassim Mohammed Khudair, Iraqs newly appointed Oil Minister, in Baghdad. The two sides exchanged views on deepening pragmatic cooperation in the energy sector and promoting efficient development of ZPECs projects in Iraq.

During the talks, Geng Xianliang extended his congratulations to Minister Bassim Mohammed Khudair on his new appointment and expressed gratitude for the Ministers long-standing support for ZPECs Iraq projects. Geng presented an overview of the companys business development and future plans in Iraq, stating that ZPEC remained committed to strengthening its presence in Iraqs energy market, leveraging ZPECs integrated advantages, and would accelerate the efficient development and construction of the EBN and MF oilfield projects, while actively promoting its engineering services, equipment manufacturing, and trading businesses. He expressed his hope for further pragmatic cooperation between the two sides to jointly advance the sustainable development of Iraqs energy industry and to achieve mutual benefits.

Minister Bassim Mohammed Khudair spoke positively of ZPECs longstanding contributions to the development of Iraqs energy sector. He reaffirmed that the Iraqi side would continue to support ZPECs business operations in Iraq, create favorable conditions for cooperation, and further deepen bilateral collaboration.

At the end of the talks, on behalf of Li Chundi, Chairman of ZPEC, Geng Xianliang extended a sincere invitation to Minister Bassim Mohammed Khudair to visit ZPECs Shanghai headquarters at a convenient time, desiring to strengthening communication and deepening the friendly and cooperative relationship between the two sides.
