At 11:00am Egypt local time, on June 18, 2024, ZPEC Egypt Company held a new block drilling ceremony in the eastern Sahara Desert. This marked another major breakthrough the Company has made in the Egyptian Water Well market since signing the Aswan Block Water Well Turkey contract with the Egyptian Air Force on May 17, 2023.

This project is a 150-well turkey contract. After signing on May 27 this year, ZPEC Egypt has been working hard to start the new project, quickly relocating three complete desert fast moving rigs from Minya Base, Fayoum Base, and Aswan to the new block. During this period, Chinese and Egyptian employees overcame the difficulties of high temperature and nearly 1,000 kilometers of long-distance relocation, efficiently completed the installation and commissioning of the equipment, and passed the acceptance of Party A on one attempt.

Zhao Wutao, the General Manager of ZPEC Egypt, said "Entering a new Block, we are facing new challenges. According to the Egyptian Air Force’s introduction, the new block where ZPEC operates is another large-scale farmland reclamation project opened up in the depths of the Sahara Desert after the Aswan Block of the "Future of Egypt" Agricultural Project. The project plans to complete the construction of 3,000 water wells within 5 years.
