On October 28, 2022, Well YK29-20H1, drilled by ZPEC Rig 9 Team (Rig SCP50003), was finished 10.53 days ahead of schedule, setting another new record of daily footage in the horizontal section since July 20^th.  SCP Oilfield Company (a Schlumberger JV Company) immediately sent an Appreciation Letter to ZPEC Rig 9 Team to commend their excellent job and to reward them with 145,000RMB.    

YK29-20H1 is a gas well located in Zichang City, Yan'an, Shanbei Province. The well’s designed depth was 4,510m and the actual completed depth was 4,477m with a 1,000m actual horizontal section. Since spudded in on August 24^th, in view of the difficulties, such as complex formation conditions, strong abrasive ability in the fourth section, high encounter rate of mudstone drilling, poor drilling ability in the horizontal section, etc., the well was constantly under the guidance of technical experts at all levels of ZPEC Group.  After fully analyzing the risks and difficulties, ZPEC Rig 9 Team scientifically formulated detailed disclosure measures and operational plans to ensure safe and efficient operation.       

When drilled to the Third Section, the production and living materials of the drilling crew were stopped due to the upgrading of epidemic control at the location. Instead of waiting and doing nothing, they actively coordinated to reduce all adverse effects. Through joint efforts with all parties, they overcame the difficulties and finally completed the well with excellent results.

Mr. Sun Bin, the Rig Manager of ZPEC Rig 9 Team, said that their team had been fighting in the SCP Yanbei Market for many years and as the construction area moved northward, the difficulty of drilling had increased. He pledged that all the staff would continue to carry forward the spirit of ZPEC’s "Iron Blood Journey", as well as the spirit of the Yan'an Old Area, dare to fight and overcome difficulties, and strive to exceed the annual production target!
