On the eve of the National Day, Chairman Li Chundi went to Yan'an in northern Shaanxi and Ordos in Inner Mongolia to visit and send festival greetings to all the soldiers of ZPEC Drilling Yan'an Project fighting in the Shaanxi-Mongolian Area. He fully affirmed the five drilling teams for sticking to the old market while reaching heights. He encouraged everyone to unite as one, to innovate and work hard, to continue to deepen management transformation, technology improvement and talent training in order to stabilize the market position and expand the space for profit with outstanding operational performance. Thus, further demonstrating the strength of the brand image and competitive advantages of ZPEC Drilling, welcoming a new round of vigorous development of the drilling engineering sector.
At the end of September, the autumn in northern Shaanxi is getting richer in the golden yellow, dark red, and other colors of the dizzy dye. The mountains, rivers and trees here have become particularly charming. The well sites of ZPEC Rig 9 and Rig 17, which provide drilling engineering services for Schlumberger Changhe Oilfield, are located in the mountains of Zichang City, Yan'an. On September 27, accompanied by Li Zhenhua, the Deputy General Manager of ZPEC Drilling, Chairman Li and his party drove up the dusty mountain road and saw ZPEC drilling rigs standing on the top of the mountains. After hearing the news of the chairman's arrival, the drilling workers lined up early to greet him. Chairman Li shook hands with everyone when he got off the bus and extended his cordial greetings. Regardless of the fatigue of the journey, he went into the engine room, looked at the equipment, and boarded the drilling floor every time he went to a well team. He carefully checked the operation of the drilling rig and asked about the problems existing in the operation and the technical measures taken for resolution. After listening to the report of the drilling crews, he spoke highly of the two drilling crews who have created new records this year and have been awarded many times by Party A. He reported the current good production and operation situation of ZPEC Group and its strategic objectives for two to three years. He pointed out that ZPEC Drilling Engineering Services had traditional advantages and had always maintained an impressive record of "First-class in theater" in the domestic and international markets. He said, “Since 2020, due to the epidemic, many difficulties have been encountered, which have affected the development of the business. Fortunately, with the continued high international oil prices this year, all business segments of the company have ushered in new opportunities for development. Northern Shaanxi is the place where ZPEC started and is also the base for talent training. The achievements made by the drilling teams of the Yan'an Project over the years are obvious and they are famous in the work area. We must constantly summarize our experience, see our own shortcomings, pay close attention to the construction of talent echelon, the application of new technologies and new playing methods, and the fine management of old equipment. We should drill every well in a solid and safe way, ensuring the perfect end of this year and the next step of expansion.” He encouraged everyone to give full play to the advantages of integration, relying on technical strength to bring "new ideas" to "old projects" and achieve win-win cooperation with Party A.
From September 28 to 29, Chairman Li and his delegation left Yan'an and headed north all the way to the Sulige Gas Field in Inner Mongolia to visit the officers and soldiers of ZPEC Rig 6, 8, and 15. From Ejin Horo Banner to Wushen Banner, then to Etok Banner and Etok Front Banner, wherever they went, they saw endless grasslands and empty and desolate sand dunes. As a highly market-oriented work area, Sulige has gathered dozens of drilling teams from domestic central and private enterprises, and is a veritable drilling arena. Chairman Li praised the operational performance achieved by ZPEC drilling teams, encouraged everyone to further maintain and expand the market, and keep the long-term cooperative relationship with Party A. He was very concerned about the recent complex downhole problems encountered by Rig 15. Once he arrived at the well site, he convened the company's resident experts, drilling crew cadres and technical people to have a discussion, learn the response measures and the next step plan, and give guidance on how to find talents, cultivate talents and improve the technical strength for the team. He pointed out that technology is productivity. The leaders of all systems and drilling crews of the company must have strategic thinking, take talent training as a top priority, and give opportunities, platforms, and benefits to potential young employees, focusing on supporting potentials and aspiring young employees to become talents and stand out as soon as possible. At ZPEC Rig 6 and ZPEC Rig 8 well sites, Chairman Li was also very concerned about the living conditions of the staff while learning the equipment operation, operation progress, and subsequent contracts. He carefully inspected the canteen, bathhouse, and dormitory of the drilling crews, and emphasized that the drilling staff were in the field all the year round, and that the conditions were difficult. The leaders of the company, the project, and the drilling crews should always care about everyone, and strive to improve the existing living conditions by starting with daily food, clothing, housing and transportation, improve the salary level of employees, so that everyone can work comfortably and more vigorously. Chairman Li instructed the young technical people at the well sites that they should not only to bear hardships and stand hard work, but also strengthen their study, widely dabble in, strive to be versatile, and constantly improve their confidence and execution in dealing with problems. At the same time, he also put forward specific requirements for the platform managers on how to comprehensively manage the drilling crews.
Chairman Li's visit gave great encouragement to the drilling officers and soldiers, and strengthened their determination to "Take root in the old market and strive for new achievements". With the company's increasing support for domestic projects, the ZPEC Spirit of "Iron Blood Journey" in the Shaanxi Inner Mongolia work area will certainly live up to the great trust and continue to write new glories in the footsteps of the predecessors.
