ZPEC Rig 42 Team Completes Boyuan 1 Well Drilling

2022-08-05

At 5:00 pm on August 2, the Boyuan 1 Well, drilled by ZPEC Rig 42 Team, was successfully completed at a depth of 4,152 meters. A good oil and gas show was found in the target layer, which laid a good foundation for Party A's subsequent exploration and production. Boyuan 1 Well is located in Keping County, Tarim Basin, Xinjiang Province. It is the third high-difficulty well drilled by ZPEC Rig 42 Team after entering the Tarim market.

Boyuan 1 Well is a four-section well and is deployed by Xinjiang Boyuan Petroleum and Natural Gas Development Co., Ltd. on the Keping fault-uplift belt in the northwestern margin of the Tarim Basin. The well’s designed depth was 4,084 meters, spudded on January 25, 2022, and completed on August 2, 2022 with 4,152 meters actual drilling depth. ZPEC completed the well in 194 days, which was ahead of "Ketan 1 Well" in the same block. The operating rig is a 90DB Drilling Rig, independently developed and manufactured by ZPEC.

Boyuan 1 Well is a Piedmont geological structure pre-exploration well. During the drilling process, it encountered many dangerous and difficult conditions, such as vicious lost circulation, wellbore collapse, large section of salt-gypsum formation, etc.. Due to the unknown-risk well conditions, ZPEC Group, ZPEC Drilling Company, and ZPEC Oilfield Service Company sent technical experts to the well site to conduct the drilling operation. With the experts and the team members efforts, they overcame all the difficulties, and handed over the well successfully.
