ZPEC Wenbei Oilfield Gas Well Production Capacity Sets New High

2021-09-19

On September 19, 2021, Hong 11-3 Well in the ZPEC Wenbei Oilfield tested and ignited successfully.  The orange flame at the well site was as high as 3 meters and the 8 mm nozzle was tested for production. The daily natural gas production of Hong 11-3 Well reached 85,000 cubic meters, once again marking ZPEC’s new breakthrough in natural gas exploration, evaluation, and technical research in the Aksu Wenbei Oilfield in Xinjiang. This achievement has laid a solid foundation for the next step of exploration and reserve increase, rolling development, and production capacity construction.

Hong 11-3 Well, with a designed drilling depth of 2,269 meters, is located in the Hongqipo farm area of Aksu City, which is an exploration evaluation well deployed by the company in the middle section of the F1 Fault Zone in the Wensu Block. The integrated operation was carried out by the combined efforts of ZPEC Oil Services Company and the Downhole Operation Center. The efficient co-operation greatly accelerated the progress of the wells gas test and production. The successful gas test in the buried hill weathering crust reservoir further confirmed the characteristics and distribution range of oil and gas accumulation in the middle section of the F1 Fault Zone, laying the foundation for the 2022 Reserve Report in the Hong 11 Block.

In 2021, based on the principle of integration of exploration, evaluation, and construction, ZPEC has accelerated the construction of oil and gas production capacity in the Wenbei Oilfield Wen 7 Block, while focusing on increasing the exploration efforts in the Red 11 Block and Red 26 Block  northeast of the Wensu Block. A number of exploratory wells have been deployed and implemented, achieving a series of exploration results. The newly completed exploratory wells obtained good oil and gas indications in oil and gas testing. After being tested and analyzed, the natural gas produced in the test proved to be good quality .

The ZPEC Wensu Block is adjacent to the Tarim Oilfield in Xinjiang Province, which is rich in oil and gas resources. The oil area is about 18 kilometers away from the Ring-Taxi Natural Gas Pipeline.  This is very convenient for the future integration into the national West-East Gas Pipeline Network. The company has seized the opportunity of the market-oriented reform of the national oil and gas pipeline network and is now further planning to deploy its natural gas sales business. The natural gas reserves of the approved Wenbei Oilfield Wen 7 Block and the proven Hong 11 new areas are the extension of the industrial chainproviding strong resource protection.
