At 7:00 am on October 21^st, the 20th well Baqa-1 of the UEP Project was successfully drilled by Team 33 of ZPEC’s Pakistan branch. Party A’s on-site drilling supervisor, Mohammad Ishtiaq Hussain, said at the pre-drilling meeting that the smooth drilling of the well was inseparable from the fighting spirit of all the staff of Team 33. By defying high temperatures and fighting the epidemic, the superior working ability and tenacious team spirit of the ZPEC employees were fully affirmed.

Since the beginning of this year, the global epidemic has greatly deteriorated Pakistan’s security situation and has also restricted the recovery of Pakistan’s oil industry. The UEP Project has insufficient well locations and Party A’s infrastructure department cannot deliver the planned well locations on time. According to Party A’s requirements, after the last well drilled by Team 33 is handed over, it will be relocated to Party A’s cargo yard on October 9^th followed by delivery to the new well site on October 15^th. Two relocations in just a few days put forward high requirements on the quality of personnel. During the epidemic, there were many third-party personnel involved. Party A also put forward higher requirements for epidemic prevention and control.

In response to the heavy relocation tasks, all Team 33 employees formulated detailed plans for equipment relocation, equipment installation, and personnel arrangements. High standards and strict requirements for the installation of equipment, active provision of epidemic prevention materials, and careful organization of vehicle scheduling, were some of the difficulties being tackled. In the end, the relocation task was successfully completed and the drilling began as scheduled.

During the operation of the project, UEP senior leaders stated on many occasions that ZPEC’s Team 33 had broken industry records and set industry benchmarks since entering the Pakistan market. After drilling, Team 33 continued their efforts of epidemic prevention and equipment safety, while working hard to achieve greater breakthroughs.
