After more than 20 days of meticulous construction, on June 24^th, the first horizontal well, Wen 8-4-H1, in the Zhongman Wenbei Oilfield was successfully completed. Through the successful application of new technologies, the reservoir encounter rate was as high as 97%, demonstrating the advantages of the integration of exploration and development and drilling engineering. This well is of great significance for accelerating the exploration and development process of the Wensu Block.

Wen 8-4-H1 was drilled by ZEPC Drilling Team 14. Drilling began on May 23^rd and was completed on June 19^th. The designed well depth was 2,282 meters, the actual completion depth was 2,385 meters, and the designed horizontal section was 400 meters and the actual horizontal section was 430 meters. Because this well was the first horizontal test well in Wenbei Oilfield, there was no previous construction experience to learn from.  It was difficult and there were many unknown factors. In order to drill this well, the Group had to give full play to the advantages of wellbore technology integration and organized drilling, testing, logging, cementing, completion, orientation, and mud experts for on-site handling of problems.  It had to coordinate with all forces at the beginning and invest advanced equipment and instruments such as rotary steering, resistivity imaging, azimuth Gama, Azitrak edge detection tools, etc., from all personnel, Technology, equipment, and other aspects provided the guarantee for smooth construction.

The horizontal section of the well was designed to be drilled in the oil layer with a large number of technical difficulties needing to be overcome. The requirements for drilling technology and equipment performance were very high. The field experts formulated a targeted construction plan after verification and adjusted the technical parameters and mud parameters in real time. Thus, hidden dangers were effectively eliminated, such as formation collapse, and ensured the steady progress of drilling. Due to adequate preparation, effective coordination, and excellent technology, there were no sticking or leakage accidents during the entire construction process. Drilling, testing, logging, cementing, and completion were all completed at on time.

Wen 8-4-H1 Well is located in Block Wen 7 of the ZPEC Wenbei Oilfield on the north side of the F1 fault zone in the Wensu Uplift in the Keping Uplift of the Tarim Basin. The purpose of drilling is to develop large-scale horizontal wells, to provide a technical basis to further increase production, to build productivity, and to increase resource reserves. At present, the follow-up completion and production work of the well has been implemented.
