On June 8^th, two high-difficult, horizontal wells of the Sinopec Northeast Bureau, whose mud services were provided by the ZPEC Drilling Fluid Branch, were successfully completed. During the construction period, the team of technical experts sent by ZPEC used the self-developed, high-performance, water-based mud system and other new materials such as high-efficiency, anti-collapse, plugging agents for the first time. The problem of serious stratum leakage and easy collapse in the region was solved in one fell swoop.  Thus, demonstrating ZPEC’s strength in the external market, while continuing to reinforce its good reputation for ZPEC's Technical Services.

The two horizontal wells in the first phase of Sinopec Northeast Bureau project were very difficult.  The North 213-12 Well was drilled in the open hole section with deflection and a horizontal section. The open hole section was very long and there were risks of frequent accidents with easy leakage and collapse during the drilling process. The adjacent well had experienced lost circulation of more than 1,000 cubic meters. The risk factor was very high. After entering the project, the ZPEC Drilling Fluid Team boldly used their own drilling fluid technology and new materials to avoid the occurrence of similar serious lost circulation to ensure smooth construction.  Another well, Su 4--11, was already in service. The new mud that ZPEC used avoided the frequent occurrence of accidents in surrounding wells and provided a strong guarantee for the smooth drilling and completion of the well team.

It’s known that the block had been drilling wells with high-density specific gravity mud for decades with frequent collapses.  Attempts to use low-density mud were not successful. After entering the market, ZPEC’s Drilling Fluids Team utilized its innovative and scientifically developed new mud material. It has reversed the local operating problems. During the drilling process, there was no leakage and no collapse. The effect is very satisfactory and has been highly praised by Party A and laid a solid foundation for further development of the Northeast market.

Through painstaking research and training of the team, ZPEC Drilling Fluids Branch has not only formed its own unique drilling fluid system, but also developed a variety of new materials.  ZPEC will use this project as a starting point to continue to base itself in the domestic market, to expand overseas, and to provide valuable services to more customers.
