Under the severestrains of COVID-19, at 2:00pm on March 2nd at ZPEC Equipment Group’s Shanghai LingangBase, the 40DB Training Rig, designed and manufactured by ZPEC, wassuccessfully raised.  This marked the successfulresumption of production work and normal operations of the Shanghai branch sincethe outbreak of COVID-19.

ZPECGroup leaders, department heads, technology, production, and other relatedpersonnel participated in the on-site raising. The main structure of the testwell drilling rig was restructured from the traditional 40DB Drilling Rig.After the construction is completed, it will serve as the company’s advancedintelligent equipment R&D test platform and a practical training base foroverseas drilling operators. In this regard, the company's technical departmentredesigned and optimized the original structure, improved the two-storyplatform to facilitate the installation of automation equipment, and placed thehoisting winch in the background to increase the working space of the drillingfloor. As a test platform for advanced equipment manufacturing, the rig is equippedwith multifunctional integrated double driller’s room, automatic catwalk, ironframe worker, iron driller, automatic slip, and other drilling automation devices.All devices are centrally controlled by the SDOS system, which can trulyachieve the full automation of drilling operations.

During the finalassembly and raising stage of the 40DB Training Rig derrick, the COVID-19 outbreakbrought great difficulties to everyone. In this battle, the leaders of theShanghai Equipment Company withstood pressure from all parties and led theemployees to organize in order to resume work and production under the premiseof "epidemic prevention and control" and "safe production".  They did a good job of ensuring the safety ofepidemic prevention and control and, at the same time, they organized carefullyand formulated the detailed derrick hoisting and hoisting plan. During theperiod, the technicians closely guided the whole process and solved various technicalproblems in timely manner. The engineers wore masks and worked hard.  Everyone carried forward the "Iron Army Spiritof ZPEC”, not afraid of hardships and willing to dedicate themselves toovercome various adverse effects caused by the epidemic.  While working steadfastly in the small finalassembly site with high installation difficulties, the team ensured the smooth raisingof the rig.
