When disaster struck, help came from all sides. In order to support the domestic epidemicprevention and control work, ZPEC Group recently donated money and materialsthrough various channels to help those people in need. Up to now, a total ofmore than $60,000 USD (420,000 RMB) has been donated. The pneumonia infection caused by COVID-19 is verydistressing. On March 3, ZPEC Group organized a donation activity. The Groupresponded actively and made voluntary donations, hoping to contribute to thefight against the disease. On the morning of March 6, the Group held a donationceremony at the Shanghai Lingang Base. Chairman Li Chundi, Vice Chairman ZhuFengxue, Executive President Zhang Yun, and other leaders and personnel fromvarious departments enthusiastically donated. At the same time, Group PresidentChen Qingjun and other overseas leaders, overseas branches, and employees ofvarious domestic departments also actively donated online.  There were a total of 1,612 corporate participantswho gave $38,349 USD (266,130 RMB) for this event, which was transferred to theShanghai Charity Foundation on March 10.

Prior to this, ZPEC Iraq Company, ZPEC Egypt Company,and ZPEC Shanghai Headquarters had initiated donation dives in advance,donating a total of $6,109 USD (42,400 RMB) to charities and to Wuhan, anddonated materials of about $16,571 USD (115,000 RMB). Among them, the leadersof the Block 10 project and RIF 35 responded positively. At the same time, thedomestic staff on leave donated $1,060 USD (7,359 RMB) online.  ZPEC Egypt Company employees spontaneouslydonated a batch of medical masks, protective clothing, and other materials tothe Wuhan Central Hospital in the early stage of the epidemic. After they purchasedit in Cairo, they sent it to Wuhan as soon as possible. The 19 Party Members ofthe ZPEC Party Branch also responded to the call of the higher Party Organizationand immediately donated money to help the epidemic prevention and control.

Due to the impact of the epidemic, many countries havestopped applying for visas for Chinese nationals and have adopted measures suchas immigration control or interruption of flights. As a result, some of ZPEC’s overseasproject personnel cannot work nor rest normally. Overseas employees take theoverall situation into consideration, stick to their posts, and work diligentlyto overcome various unexpected difficulties and to ensure the normal operationof various overseas projects under extremely difficult conditions. During thisperiod, they are always paying attention to the development of the domesticepidemic, worrying about their compatriots and relatives in the country, andactively mobilizing and participating in donations. On March 1, under theinitiative of Li Tao, the Rig Manager of BLOCK 10 Project, and projectpersonnel organized a special donation activity on the spot. Mr. Lu Jian, theGroup Drilling Director, Mr. Xu Xingang, Project Manager, and other leaders whowere stationed in the well responded first and set a good example for everyone.The rig and technical service personnel also responded positively, expressingtheir love for the motherland in their own way. After receiving the news, otheremployees who were on vacation at home also rushed to make donations throughWeChat transfers and other methods. Li Tao, the Rig Manager, said: “We can’tjust ask the country to pick up overseas employees for free when bad thingshappen. We must also understand that patriotism and unity is powerful!” Thisspirit of patriotism, love for enterprises, and love for compatriots moved theforeign employees of the same project. They exclaimed, “You Chinese are sounited and amazing!”
