From April 20 to 23, the first well , Red 11 ofthe ZPEC Wensu project was successfully tested in 2020. At that time, theorange-red flame on the site was more than 3 meters, and the industrial airflowwas rich, marking ZPEC’s new breakthroughs in natural gas exploration anddevelopment in Wenbei Oilfield, Xinjiang. It will lay a solid foundation forthe next step of exploration and storage.

The Red11 well is located in the Wensu’s upliftstructural belt of the Tarim Basin. It is the deepest well designed by Zhongmanin the Wenbei oilfield and an important evaluation well in the F2 structuralbelt. The well was drilled by the Zhongman 13 team and the drilling depth was2250 meters. Since receiving the drilling instruction on December 6, 2019, thedrilling team has continuously strengthened the sense of responsibility for theoverall situation, reasonably formulated production plans, done a good job inmaterial supply, equipment maintenance, technical support and other tasks inadvance to ensure production operation. After unremitting efforts, It took only26.87 days to complete the entire drilling and coring operation. Throughexploration in perforation and other technologies, this well not only hasconsiderable industrial gas flow, but also has multiple reservoirs with richreserves.

It is understood that, in addition to the Red11well, which is tested by gas for production, there are currently more than adozen wells in the ZPEC Wenbei Oilfield, where there is oil at the wellhead,oil is produced in each well, and gas is present in each layer. In the nextstep, based on the results of earthquakes, geology, drilling, oil testing, andtest production, Zhongman Oil and Gas Company will further refine thegeological research, deepen the understanding of reservoir formation laws,expand the exploration field, and strive to find more oil and gas reserves.With the successive development of newly deployed wells, the productioncapacity of ZPEC Wenbei Oilfield is expected to increase substantially.
