At7:00am on May 5^th, good news came from the Sulige Project. When theSudong-102 Well, drilled by ZPEC’s Rig 15, reached 957 meters, it marked the rig’sexceeding 10,000 meters annual drilling footage.  Rig 15 became the first rig in the Sulige Oil Fieldwith a cumulative footage exceeding 10,000 meters, as well as ZPEC’s first rigto do so. Up to May 5th, Rig 15 has completed drilling 4 wells and starteddrilling it’s fifth well. It took only 58 days to achieve its 10,000-meterfootage record. While breaking the block footage record, it also broke its65-day breakthrough of 10,000 meters recorded last year.

Thatmorning, Zhong Li, General Manager of ZPEC Drilling Company, Zhu Zhaoyin, DeputyGeneral Manager, and Liu Yangang, Project Manager, made the long journey to thewellsite to commend the workers for their impressive achievements and to encourageeveryone to stay safe and take care during the COVID-19, low oil price period.It is hoped that everyone would seize the opportunity, strengthen their confidence,and ensure that this year's performance is improved to a higher level by doingbetter and improving efficiency. After receiving the leaders’ care andencouragement, everyone was motivated. They replied by confirming that they wouldtry their best to make new achievements by making persistent efforts.

Since the beginning of the year, while Rig 15 has done agood job in disease prevention and control, it has done everything possible toensure consistent production. Due to the inability to take publictransportation during the COVID-19 outbreak, on February 24^th, afterreceiving the notice from client, the first batch of 24 people from the rigvoluntarily drove 3,000 miles to the Inner Mongolia wellsite. More importantly,some of the drilling team had to do double or more work because the team’sshort handedness. They first spud in the Sudong 011-102 Well at 8:00am onFebruary 27^th, becoming the first rig to drill and finish drillingin the same block, while maintaining their lead in the field.

Thewellsite is located in Ordos City, Inner Mongolia. The local coronavirus infectioncontrol policy is very strict and it is difficult for inbound vehicles andpersonnel to enter. In view of the difficulties in the organization of drillingtools and production materials during the infection control period, the projectpersonnel sorted out the material tools and actively communicated with the clientto ensure that key materials would arrive at the wellsite on time. In order toavoid production risks, the project technicians stayed at the wellsite, fullyinvestigated the neighboring well data in advance, and optimized the drillingtool combination according to different geological characteristics. Under thepremise of ensuring safe construction, the Rig 15 Drilling Team effectivelyachieved high speed and excellent quality with superb efficiency.
