ZPEC Rig 90DB Lifting Completed at Xinjiang Tarim Project

2019-04-09

At noon on April 8th, ZPEC Drilling Company successfully completed the lifting of its 90DB Rig at the Keshen Oilfield, Gobi Block 13 in the Xinjiang Tarim Basin.  The flag fluttered at the top of the derrick and the roar of the rig resounded through the clouds.  This is the first time that the Zhongman rig has entered into the high-end market in Tarim, marking a new era of competition with many well-known drilling companies in China.

In recent days, the employees carried forward the spirit of the “Iron Army”, tackling difficulties under the harsh natural conditions and working almost 13 hours each day in order to achieve their daily tasks.  The project leaders remained focused and attached great importance on process management.  As a result, the lifting efficiency was greatly improved and only three days were used in this process. Their detailed plans emphasized organizational structure and their supervision required up to the minute reviews of the work-in-progress.

The Keshen 13-2 well, as it’s known, will be drilled by the Zhongman Rig 42 and has a designed well depth of 7,500 meters.  It is a high-pressure reservoir well, located on the Gobi between the Nantian Mountains in Baicheng County, Aksu Prefecture, Xinjiang.
