During a test run on January 13, 2018, a high-yield oil and gas flow was found in the DST-3 layer of the Salman-1 Well.  The Salman-1 Well Project is an exploratory well project conducted by ZPEC on behalf of Russia’s BASHNEFT Company.  This well is located in an area in south-west Iraq near the junction of the Najaf and Muthanna Provinces, about 305 km from Baghdad.

After three rigorous procedures, ZPEC team members found that the reservoir has stable output, stable pressure, and good oil quality. The successful test of the layer is of great realistic significance for future exploration and development in this area.  

In order to ensure the successful completion of the test work, ZPEC Project Management and Technical Teams united their overall planning and coordination arrangements to provide all-round protection for all procedures.  At the same time, the testers, under the pressure of less manpower and heavy construction tasks, have shown a high degree of dedication.  All have been praised for their efforts for the successful test regardless of personal gains and losses, while maintaining the highest of levels of safety.
