First Rig for Baker Hughes Project Arrives at Iraqi Well Site

After successfully completing the Iraqi Customs clearance work, and receiving the notification from the client, the rig equipments of ZPEC Team No. 22 were transported to No. 2 Block, Cluster 5 well site at West Qurna, Basra, Iraq. The rig installation, assembly, and commissioning work has now begun.

The first staff of Team No. 22 arrived at the well site on March 9. However, at that time the project was just starting and their living facilities, including room and board, were not yet ready. Once those problems were solved, and the other related living facilities taken care of, the recruitment of local employees began. The second and third batch of staff will begin arriving soon.

All of the spudding preparation work started orderly and smoothly, according to the drilling schedule. The spudding work will start in early April.
