On March 17, after having one week customs clearance work, the rig equipments of ZPEC No. 21 were transported to No. 2 Block, Cluster 10 well site at West Qurna, Basra, Iraq.
After the crane in place, the Iraqi Drilling Project immediately started to unload the cargoes, despite two days consecutive dust storming, poor well site condition and other difficulties, at 5:00 pm on March 18, nearly 100 loads had been unloaded. After finishing all the unloading work, on March 19, ZPEC No. 21 Team started to modify the rig equipments based on the Baker Hughes requirement. The rig for ZPEC No. 21 Team is the smart “Tuo-tai” rig designed and manufactured by ZPEC factory itself, which was awarded 9 National Utility Model Patents.
Till now, two of three rigs for Iraqi Baker Hughes drilling contract have already arrived in Iraqi well site and going to spud in soon.
