At 7:00 am, local Iraqi time, on Aug. 18, 2012, ZPEC No. 23 Team successfully finished drilling and completed its first well in Iraq, WQ-2-222 Well.
WQ-2-222 Well is a coring well located in the No.7 Cluster well site, No. 2 Block, at West Qurna. It has a 2,630 meter depth with a 25 degree maximum well deviation.  According to the client’s order, coring operations were carried out 7 times while drilling, and the core run and core recovery were highly satisfied by the client.  Within a few hours of completing the well, ZPEC No. 23 Team mobilized the rig and moved it to the second well site for a new round challenge.
